Occupations Code § 2402.110","heading":"DISPLAY OF DIGITAL IDENTIFICATION.","body":"(a) In this section, \"digital identification\" means information stored on a digital network that may be accessed by a driver and that:\n(1) serves as proof of the identity of the driver;\n(2) serves as proof that the insurance coverage requirements of Chapter 1954, Insurance Code, are satisfied;\n(3) displays a photo of the driver;\n(4) displays an image of the driver's vehicle; and\n(5) identifies the make, model, and license plate number of the vehicle used by the driver.\n(b) On request of a law enforcement officer or a government official enforcing or administering this chapter, a driver providing a digitally prearranged ride shall:\n(1) display the driver's digital identification; and\n(2) display electronic proof that the ride was matched through the digital network.\n(c) This section does not require a driver to relinquish possession of the electronic device containing the digital identification.\nAdded by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 231 (H.B. 100), Sec. 1, eff.
