Occupations Code § 353.154","heading":"SHORT-TERM PRESCRIPTION.","body":"If a physician, optometrist, or therapeutic optometrist writes a contact lens prescription for a period of less than one year, the physician, optometrist, or therapeutic optometrist shall:\n(1) give the patient a verbal explanation of the reason for the action at the time of the action; and\n(2) maintain in the patient's records a written explanation of the reason.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
