Occupations Code § 401.201","heading":"GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES.","body":"(a) The executive director shall administer and enforce this chapter.\n(a-1) The department shall:\n(1) evaluate the qualifications of license applicants;\n(2) provide for the examination of license applicants;\n(3) in connection with a hearing under this chapter, issue subpoenas, examine witnesses, and administer oaths under the laws of this state; and\n(4) investigate persons engaging in practices that violate this chapter.\n(b) Repealed by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 838 , Sec. 1.222(35), eff.
