Occupations Code § 454.204","heading":"EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS.","body":"To satisfy Section 454.203(1):\n(1) an applicant applying for an occupational therapist license must have, from an educational program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, its predecessor organization, or another national credentialing agency approved by the board:\n(A) an entry-level degree in occupational therapy, or a degree that exceeds the requirements for an entry-level degree in occupational therapy, from an educational program that prepares a person for entry into the field as an occupational therapist; or\n(B) a certificate evidencing successful completion of required undergraduate occupational therapy course work awarded to persons with a baccalaureate degree that is not in occupational therapy, if the applicant graduated before January 1, 2007; and\n(2) an applicant applying for an occupational therapy assistant license must have, from an educational program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, its predecessor organization, or another national credentialing agency approved by the board:\n(A) an entry-level degree in occupational therapy, or a degree that exceeds the requirements for an entry-level degree in occupational therapy, from an educational program that prepares a person for entry into the field as an occupational therapy assistant; or\n(B) an entry-level certificate in occupational therapy, or a certificate that exceeds the requirements for an entry-level certificate in occupational therapy, from an educational program that prepares a person for entry into the field as an occupational therapy assistant.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
