Occupations Code § 51.405","heading":"CONTINUING EDUCATION.","body":"(a) The department shall recognize, prepare, or administer continuing education programs for license holders. A license holder must participate in the programs to the extent required by the commission to keep the person's license.\n(b) Notwithstanding other law, the commission by rule may:\n(1) establish a minimum number of hours of continuing education required for license renewal;\n(2) provide for the registration and renewal of continuing education providers and the approval of continuing education courses; and\n(3) assess reasonable and necessary fees on continuing education providers.\n(c) In adopting rules under this section for a program regulated by the department, the commission shall consult, if applicable, with the advisory board established for the program.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 816, Sec. 1.019, eff.
