Occupations Code § 563.054","heading":"ADMINISTRATION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS.","body":"(a) A veterinarian may:\n(1) administer or provide dangerous drugs to a patient in the veterinarian's office, or on the patient's premises, if the drugs are used or required to meet the needs of the veterinarian's patients;\n(2) delegate the administration or provision of dangerous drugs to a person who:\n(A) is qualified and properly trained; and\n(B) acts under the veterinarian's supervision; and\n(3) itemize and receive compensation for the administration or provision of the dangerous drugs under Subdivision (1).\n(b) This section does not permit a veterinarian to maintain a pharmacy for the retailing of drugs without complying with applicable laws.\n(c) The administration or provision of dangerous drugs must comply with:\n(1) laws relating to the practice of veterinary medicine; and\n(2) state and federal laws relating to dangerous drugs.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
