Special District Local Laws Code § 1002.053","heading":"BOARD VACANCY.","body":"(a) If a vacancy occurs in the office of director, the remaining directors shall appoint a director for the remainder of the unexpired term.\n(b) If the number of directors is reduced to less than five, the remaining directors shall immediately call a special election to fill the vacancies. On application of any voter or taxpayer of the district when the board fails to call an election, a district court may order the directors to hold the election.\nActs 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1277, Sec. 1, eff.
