Special District Local Laws Code § 1020.062","heading":"RECRUITMENT OF MEDICAL STAFF AND EMPLOYEES.","body":"(a) The district may spend district money, enter into agreements, or take other action it considers appropriate to recruit physicians, nurses, and other trained medical personnel, including:\n(1) advertising and marketing;\n(2) paying travel, recruitment, and relocation expenses;\n(3) providing and subsidizing office space or other facilities for a health care professional, including a physician who agrees to render services in the district or to serve as a district employee; and\n(4) subsidizing the income of a health care professional, including a physician who agrees to render services in the district.\n(b) The district may pay the tuition or other expenses of a full-time medical, allied health professional, or nursing student who:\n(1) is enrolled in and is in good standing at an accredited school, college, or university; and\n(2) contractually agrees to render services to the district or become a district employee in return for that assistance.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.02, eff.
