Special District Local Laws Code § 1021.051","heading":"BOARD ELECTION; TERM.","body":"(a) The board consists of seven directors elected from the district by position. To be elected, a candidate must receive a majority of the votes cast in the election for that position.\n(b) The official ballot must indicate the position number of each office to be voted on at the election.\n(c) A candidate may run for only one position at each election.\n(d) Unless four-year terms are established under Section 285.081, Health and Safety Code:\n(1) directors serve staggered two-year terms; and\n(2) the terms of directors elected to positions 1 through 3 expire in odd-numbered years and the terms of directors elected to positions 4 through 7 expire in even-numbered years.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.02, eff.
