Special District Local Laws Code § 1046.055","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.","body":"(a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person is:\n(1) a district resident; and\n(2) a qualified voter.\n(b) A director elected or appointed to represent a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that commissioners precinct. Failure of the director to maintain residence in the commissioners precinct is a ground for removal from office in the manner provided by law for removal of county officers.\n(c) A person is not eligible to serve as a director if the person is:\n(1) an administrator for the district or a district hospital;\n(2) the attorney for the district; or\n(3) a district employee.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.02, eff.
