Special District Local Laws Code § 1059.053","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.","body":"(a) To be eligible to be a candidate for or to serve as a director, a person must be:\n(1) a district resident;\n(2) a qualified voter; and\n(3) able to obtain a bond as prescribed by Section 1059.054.\n(b) In addition to Subsection (a), a person who is elected from a commissioners precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that commissioners precinct.\n(c) A district employee or member of the district's medical staff may not serve as a director.\n(d) A person formerly employed by the district may not serve as a director before the second anniversary of the date of the termination of that person's employment by the district.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.02, eff.
