Special District Local Laws Code § 1064.104","heading":"HOSPITAL SYSTEM; ANCILLARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES SYSTEM.","body":"(a) The district shall provide for the establishment of a hospital system by:\n(1) purchasing, constructing, acquiring, repairing, or renovating buildings and equipment;\n(2) equipping the buildings; and\n(3) administering the buildings and equipment for hospital purposes.\n(b) The hospital system may include:\n(1) facilities for domiciliary care and treatment of the sick or injured;\n(2) facilities for outpatient clinics;\n(3) dispensaries;\n(4) facilities for geriatric care, including assisted living facilities and independent elderly living facilities;\n(5) nursing home facilities;\n(6) necessary nurses' domiciliaries and training centers;\n(7) blood banks;\n(8) community mental health centers;\n(9) research centers or laboratories; and\n(10) any other facilities the board considers necessary for hospital care.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1139 (H.B. 2619), Sec. 1.01, eff.
