Special District Local Laws Code § 1082.054","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.","body":"(a) To be eligible to be a candidate for or to serve as a director, a person must be:\n(1) a resident of the district; and\n(2) a qualified voter.\n(b) A person who is elected from a single-member district or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a single-member district must reside in that single-member district.\n(c) A district employee may not serve as a director.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1139 (H.B. 2619), Sec. 1.01, eff.
