Special District Local Laws Code § 1083.054","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.","body":"(a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person is:\n(1) a resident of the district;\n(2) a registered voter; and\n(3) more than 18 years of age at the time of election or appointment.\n(b) A person who is elected from a commissioners precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that precinct.\n(c) A district employee may not serve as a director.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1139 (H.B. 2619), Sec. 1.01, eff.
