Special District Local Laws Code § 1086.053","heading":"BALLOT PETITION.","body":"A person who wants to have the person's name printed on the ballot as a candidate for a position as an elected director must file with the board secretary a petition requesting that action. The petition must:\n(1) be signed by at least 10 registered voters of the district, as determined by the most recent official list of registered voters;\n(2) be filed by the deadline imposed by Section 144.005, Election Code; and\n(3) specify the commissioners precinct the candidate wants to represent.\nAdded by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 70 (S.B. 1147), Sec. 1.01, eff.
