Special District Local Laws Code § 1096.052","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.","body":"(a) To qualify for election to the board, a person must:\n(1) be at least 18 years of age;\n(2) have been a resident of the district for at least two years; and\n(3) be a qualified property tax paying voter of the district.\n(b) A person may not serve as a director if the person:\n(1) is a district employee;\n(2) was a district employee at any time during the two years preceding the date of the election; or\n(3) receives compensation under a contract with the district.\nAdded by Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 112 (S.B. 1026), Sec. 1.01, eff.
