Special District Local Laws Code § 1104.053","heading":"BALLOT PETITION.","body":"A person who wants to have the person's name printed on the ballot as a candidate for director must file with the board secretary a petition requesting that action. The petition must be:\n(1) signed by at least 50 registered voters of the district, as determined by the most recent official lists of registered voters; and\n(2) filed by the deadline imposed by Section 144.005, Election Code.\nAdded by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 70 (S.B. 1147), Sec. 1.01, eff.
