Special District Local Laws Code § 3802.1045","heading":"MEMBERSHIP IN CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS.","body":"The district may join and pay dues to an organization that:\n(1) is exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(a), Internal Revenue Code of 1986, by being listed as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3), (4), or (6) of that code; and\n(2) performs a service or provides an activity consistent with the furtherance of a district purpose.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 865 (S.B. 2496), Sec. 5, eff.
