Special District Local Laws Code § 3842.106","heading":"MEMBERSHIP IN CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS.","body":"The district may join and pay dues to an organization that:\n(1) is exempt from the payment of federal income taxes under Section 501(a), Internal Revenue Code of 1986, by being listed as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3), (4), or (6), Internal Revenue Code of 1986; and\n(2) performs a service or provides an activity consistent with the furtherance of a district purpose.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 589 (S.B. 1999), Sec. 2, eff.
