Special District Local Laws Code § 5018.0060","heading":"CONFLICT OF INTEREST; CRIMINAL PENALTY.","body":"(a) A district commissioner, engineer, or employee, personally or as an agent for another person, may not benefit directly or indirectly from a sale, purchase, or contract entered into by the board.\n(b) A person commits an offense if the person violates this section. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by:\n(1) a fine not to exceed $1,000;\n(2) confinement in the county jail for not less than six months or more than one year; or\n(3) both the fine and confinement.\nAdded by Acts 2019, 86th Leg., R.S., Ch. 468 (H.B. 4172), Sec. 1.01, eff.
