Special District Local Laws Code § 8243.102","heading":"WATER AND SEWER SYSTEMS.","body":"The district may:\n(1) acquire an existing water system that serves all or part of the district territory; or\n(2) enter into a contract with the owner of a system described by Subdivision (1) under which the owner agrees:\n(A) to operate and maintain all or part of the district's facilities;\n(B) to provide billing for utility service supplied by district facilities;\n(C) not to provide water service to a customer who is subject to the sanitary sewer service supplied by district facilities but who has not paid for that sewer service; and\n(D) to any other agreement required to assure adequate maintenance of district facilities and provide money to pay district obligations.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1139 (H.B. 2619), Sec. 1.04, eff.
