Special District Local Laws Code § 8513.0203","heading":"SUSPENSION AND REMOVAL.","body":"(a) A director or officer may be suspended or removed from office for:\n(1) incompetency;\n(2) official misconduct;\n(3) official gross negligence;\n(4) habitual drunkenness; or\n(5) nonattendance at six consecutive regular board meetings.\n(b) A director or officer may not be suspended or removed from office unless:\n(1) charges against the director or officer are filed in writing; and\n(2) the director or officer is given an opportunity for a fair hearing before the board.\n(c) An affirmative vote of not fewer than eight of the directors is required to suspend or remove a director or officer.\nAdded by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 240 (H.B. 2692), Sec. 1, eff.
