Special District Local Laws Code § 8888.102","heading":"ELECTION OF DIRECTORS.","body":"(a) One director is elected from each of five single-member voting districts by the voters of the voting district.\n(b) A person shall indicate on the application for a place on the ballot the voting district the person seeks to represent.\n(c) In the manner described by Section 49.103(d), Water Code, the board shall redraw the single-member voting districts as soon as practicable after each federal decennial census and as otherwise required by law.\n(d) At the first election after each time the voting districts are redrawn:\n(1) five new directors shall be elected to represent the single-member voting districts; and\n(2) the directors elected shall draw lots to determine the directors' terms so that:\n(A) two directors serve two-year terms; and\n(B) three directors serve four-year terms.\n(e) Subchapter C, Chapter 146, Election Code, applies to the consideration of votes for a write-in candidate for director as if the authority were a municipality.\nAdded by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 869 (H.B. 2803), Sec. 1.04, eff.
