Special District Local Laws Code § 9011.254","heading":"ELECTION FOR BONDS PAYABLE FROM AD VALOREM TAXES.","body":"(a) Bonds, other than refunding bonds, payable wholly or partly from ad valorem taxes may not be issued unless authorized by a majority of the district voters voting at an election.\n(b) The board may order an election under this section without a petition. The order must specify:\n(1) the time and place at which the election will be held;\n(2) the purpose for which the bonds will be issued;\n(3) the maximum amount of the bonds;\n(4) the maximum maturity of the bonds;\n(5) the form of the ballot; and\n(6) the presiding judge for each voting place.\n(c) Notice of the election must be published:\n(1) at least once in a newspaper published or having general circulation in the district; and\n(2) at least 14 days before the date of the election.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.12, eff.
