Special District Local Laws Code § 9015.157","heading":"AWARD OF CERTAIN CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS.","body":"(a) This section applies only to a construction contract requiring an expenditure of more than $2,000.\n(b) A contract may be awarded only after notice of the contract to bidders for sealed bids is published once a week for two weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the authority that is designated or approved by the board.\n(c) The notice is sufficient if it states:\n(1) the time and place for opening the bids;\n(2) the general nature of the work to be done or the material, equipment, or supplies to be purchased; and\n(3) the place where and the terms on which copies of the plans and specifications may be obtained.\n(d) The bids must be opened publicly.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 920 (H.B. 3166), Sec. 1.12, eff.
