Special District Local Laws Code § 9502.0312","heading":"EMINENT DOMAIN.","body":"(a) The district may exercise the power of eminent domain to acquire a fee simple or other interest in any type of property if the interest is necessary or convenient for the exercise of the district's functions. The district must exercise the power of eminent domain in the manner provided by Chapter 21, Property Code.\n(b) The district may not exercise the power of eminent domain to acquire property owned or operated by a port authority, navigation district, drainage district, or common carrier railroad.\nAdded by Acts 2021, 87th Leg., R.S., Ch. 872 (S.B. 1160), Sec. 1, eff.
