Transportation Code § 173.051","heading":"CREATION OF DISTRICT.","body":"(a) A district may be created to provide commuter rail service between two municipalities:\n(1) each of which has a population of more than 450,000; and\n(2) that are located not farther than 100 miles apart as determined by the department.\n(b) The creating municipalities and the counties in which the creating municipalities are located may create a district on passage of a resolution favoring creation by the governing body of each municipality or county.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 85 (S.B. 1540), Sec. 2.04, eff.
