Transportation Code § 317.003","heading":"AUTHORITY REGARDING FACILITIES.","body":"(a) To decrease hazards to life or property, promote public safety or convenience, improve traffic conditions, or encourage the orderly development of the municipality, a municipality may acquire, construct, improve, enlarge, extend, maintain, repair, or replace a facility.\n(b) Activities authorized by Subsection (a) include:\n(1) removing and relocating railroad tracks, a utility line or pipe, or another improvement;\n(2) removing or demolishing a building or another improvement;\n(3) paying for damage to other property in connection with an activity described by that subsection; or\n(4) improving a street in connection with an activity described by that subsection.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 227, Sec. 24, eff.
