Transportation Code § 502.013","heading":"VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE OF MILITARY STATUS BY REGISTRATION APPLICANT.","body":"(a) When a person registers or renews the registration of a motor vehicle under this chapter, the department shall provide the person with the option to indicate whether the person is a member of the United States armed forces.\n(b) If a person indicates under Subsection (a) that the person is a member of the United States armed forces, the department shall include the person's status as a member of the United States armed forces:\n(1) in the department's vehicle registration records for the vehicle described by Subsection (a); and\n(2) with any record information released by the department relating to the department's vehicle registration records for the vehicle described by Subsection (a), including a report issued by the department for the vehicle.\nAdded by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 159 (S.B. 2007), Sec. 1, eff.
