Transportation Code § 502.480","heading":"VIOLATION BY COUNTY ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR; PENALTY.","body":"(a) A county assessor-collector commits an offense if the county assessor-collector knowingly accepts an application for the registration of a motor vehicle that:\n(1) has had the original motor number or vehicle identification number removed, erased, or destroyed; and\n(2) does not bear a motor number or vehicle identification number assigned by the department.\n(b) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $10 and not more than $50.\nTransferred, redesignated and amended from Transportation Code, Section 520.014 by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 1296 (H.B. 2357), Sec. 161, eff.
