Transportation Code § 51.007","heading":"EVALUATION AND REPORT.","body":"(a) In cooperation with appropriate persons, the commission shall continually evaluate the impact of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway on the state. The evaluation shall include:\n(1) an assessment of the importance of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway that includes identification of its direct and indirect beneficiaries;\n(2) identification of principal problems and possible solutions to those problems that includes estimated costs, economic benefits, and environmental effects;\n(3) an evaluation of the need for significant modifications to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway; and\n(4) specific recommendations for legislative action that the commission believes are in the best interest of the state in carrying out the state's duties under this chapter.\n(b) The commission shall publish a report of its evaluation and present the report to each regular session of the legislature.\nActs 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff.
