Transportation Code § 601.164","heading":"REDUCTION IN SECURITY.","body":"(a) The department may reduce the amount of security ordered in a case within six months after the date of the collision if, in the department's judgment, the amount is excessive.\n(b) The amount of security originally deposited that exceeds the reduced amount shall be returned promptly to the depositor or the depositor's personal representative.\nActs 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff.
