Transportation Code § 66.045","heading":"LIABILITY TO PILOT.","body":"(a) A person who is not a pilot and who, in violation of this chapter, pilots a vessel and the consignee of the vessel are liable to a pilot, on written demand, for the amount of the applicable pilotage rate.\n(b) In an action to recover compensation under Subsection (a), the court may include in a judgment in favor of a pilot an award of court costs and reasonable attorney's fees.\nActs 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff.
