Transportation Code § 70.032","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSE.","body":"To be eligible for a license as a branch pilot, a person must:\n(1) be at least 25 years of age;\n(2) be a United States citizen;\n(3) as of the date the license is issued, have resided continuously in the state for at least two years;\n(4) have at least two years' service as a deputy branch pilot under the supervision of a state-commissioned pilot serving the Port of Corpus Christi;\n(5) have controlled the navigation of vessels such as the person would pilot;\n(6) have extensive experience in the docking and undocking of vessels;\n(7) be in good mental and physical health;\n(8) have good moral character; and\n(9) possess the requisite skill as a navigator and pilot to perform competently and safely the duties of a branch pilot.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 359, Sec. 4, eff.
