Transportation Code § 91.007","heading":"NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO ABANDON OR DISCONTINUE SERVICE.","body":"On receipt of notice of intent to abandon or discontinue rail service served under 49 C.F.R. Section 1152.20, as amended, the department shall coordinate with the governing body of a municipality, county, or rural rail transportation district in which all or a segment of the line is located to determine whether:\n(1) the department should acquire the rail facility to which the notice relates; or\n(2) any other actions should be taken to provide for continued rail transportation service.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1325, Sec. 4.01, eff.
