Utilities Code § 181.041","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this subchapter:\n(1) \"Electric utility\" means:\n(A) an electric cooperative organized under Chapter 161;\n(B) a corporation or river authority, if the river authority is created by a statute of this state:\n(i) that generates, transmits, or distributes electric energy in this state; and\n(ii) whose operations are subject to the judicial and legislative processes of this state; or\n(C) a municipal electric utility.\n(2) \"Municipal electric utility\" means a municipality in this state that owns and operates an electric generating plant or that operates electric transmission lines or an electric distribution system.\n(3) \"Distribution line\" means a power line operated below 60,000 volts when measured phase to phase.\n(4) \"Transmission line\" means a power line operated at 60,000 volts or more when measured phase to phase.\nActs 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 166, Sec. 1, eff.
