Utilities Code § 33.004","heading":"AREA EXEMPT FROM COMMISSION REGULATION.","body":"(a) If a municipality does not surrender its jurisdiction, local utility service in the municipality is exempt from regulation by the commission under this subtitle to the extent that this subtitle applies to local service.\n(b) The municipality may exercise in the exempt area the same regulatory powers under the same standards and rules as the commission or under other consistent standards and rules.\nActs 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 166, Sec. 1, eff.
