Utilities Code § 55.047","heading":"BALLOTING AND CONSIDERATION.","body":"(a) If the commission receives a petition that complies with this subchapter, the commission shall order the incumbent local exchange company to provide ballots to the subscribers in the petitioning exchange.\n(b) The commission shall consider the request for expansion of the toll-free local calling area if at least 70 percent of the subscribers who vote do so in favor of the expansion.\n(c) The commission by rule shall provide for an expedited hearing on the issue of expansion.\nActs 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 166, Sec. 1, eff.
