Water Code § 26.171","heading":"INSPECTION OF PUBLIC WATER.","body":"A local government may inspect the public water in its area and determine whether or not:\n(1) the quality of the water meets the state water quality standards adopted by the commission;\n(2) persons discharging effluent into the public water located in the areas of which the local government has jurisdiction have obtained permits for discharge of the effluent; and\n(3) persons who have permits are making discharges in compliance with the requirements of the permits.\nAmended by Acts 1977, 65th Leg., p. 2207, ch. 870, Sec. 1, eff.
