Water Code § 51.178","heading":"AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE IRRIGATION SYSTEM SUBJECT TO MORTGAGE.","body":"A district may acquire by gift, grant, or purchase any part of an irrigation system serving the district which is subject to a mortgage or encumbrance. The mortgage or encumbrance shall not be assumed by the district and shall not be an indebtedness of the district but shall constitute solely a charge on the encumbered property and the revenue from it.\nActs 1971, 62nd Leg., p. 110, ch. 58, Sec. 1, eff.
