Water Code § 55.754","heading":"TAXES OF THE ORIGINAL DISTRICT.","body":"(a) After consolidation, the officers of the consolidated district shall assess and collect taxes on property in the original district to pay debts created by the original district.\n(b) If the officers of the consolidated district fail or refuse in due time to assess and collect taxes on property in the original district to pay the obligations of the original district, the taxes may be assessed and collected and paid on the obligations by a receiver acting under orders of a district court. A creditor or five or more taxpayers in the district may bring suit in a district court to have a receiver appointed.\nActs 1971, 62nd Leg., p. 496, ch. 58, Sec. 1, eff.
