Water Code § 58.174","heading":"AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE IRRIGATION SYSTEM SUBJECT TO MORTGAGE.","body":"A district may acquire by gift, grant, or purchase any part of an irrigation system serving the district which is subject to a mortgage or encumbrance. The mortgage or encumbrances shall not be assumed by the district and shall not be an indebtedness of the district but shall constitute solely a charge on the encumbered property and the revenue from it.\nAdded by Acts 1977, 65th Leg., p. 1537, ch. 627, Sec. 1, eff.
