{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-10-2-611","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 10-2-611","heading":"When consolidation effective -- Disincorporation of original municipalities -- Effective date for assessment purposes.","body":"(1) Upon the lieutenant governor's issuance of a certificate of consolidation under Section 67-1a-6.5:\n(a) the consolidation is effective; and\n(b) the original municipalities involved in the consolidation are disincorporated.\n(2)\n(a) The effective date of a consolidation of municipalities for purposes of assessing property within the consolidated municipality is governed by Section 59-2-305.5.\n(b) Until the documents listed in Subsection 10-2-610(3)(b) are recorded in the office of the recorder of each county in which the property is located, a consolidated municipality may not:\n(i) levy or collect a property tax on property within the consolidated municipality;\n(ii) levy or collect an assessment on property within the consolidated municipality; or\n(iii) charge or collect a fee for service provided to property within the consolidated municipality.","path":["Title 10 Utah Municipal Code","Chapter 10-2 Classification, Boundaries, Consolidation, and Dissolution of Municipalities","Part 10-2-6 Consolidation of Municipalities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title10/Chapter2/10-2-S611.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"07af316f19caf0cb43eb4cf9f549f7c6c8dcf5f7e9062631955bdfed63d9dbb5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-10-2-610","next":"us-ut/utah-code-10-2-612"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
