{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-802","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 10-20-802","heading":"Planning commission preparation and recommendation of subdivision ordinance -- Adoption or rejection by legislative body.","body":"(1) A planning commission shall:\n(a) review and provide a recommendation to the legislative body on any proposed ordinance that regulates the subdivision of land in the municipality;\n(b) review and make a recommendation to the legislative body on any proposed ordinance that amends the regulation of the subdivision of the land in the municipality;\n(c) provide notice consistent with Section 10-20-205; and\n(d) hold a public hearing on the proposed ordinance before making the planning commission's final recommendation to the legislative body.\n(2)\n(a) A legislative body may adopt, modify, revise, or reject an ordinance described in Subsection (1) that the planning commission recommends.\n(b) A legislative body may consider a planning commission's failure to make a timely recommendation as a negative recommendation if the legislative body has provided for that consideration by ordinance.","path":["Title 10 Utah Municipal Code","Chapter 10-20 Municipal Land Use, Development, and Management Act","Part 10-20-8 Subdivisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title10/Chapter20/10-20-S802.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"422b1cbb3d773a79e1c8a0d1ccdf3f2855dd3d11ec31ff2d120ade2e7549f334","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-801","next":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
