{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-907","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 10-20-907","heading":"Boundary establishment -- Process -- Boundary agreement not subject to review by land use authority -- Prohibitions.","body":"(1) The owners of adjoining property may initiate a boundary establishment to:\n(a) resolve an ambiguous, uncertain, or disputed boundary between the adjoining properties; and\n(b) agree upon the location of an existing common boundary between the adjoining properties.\n(2) Adjoining property owners executing a boundary establishment described in Subsection (1) shall:\n(a) prepare an establishment document that complies with Section 57-1-45; and\n(b) record the boundary establishment with the county recorder for the county in which the property exists, in accordance with Section 57-1-45.\n(3) A boundary establishment:\n(a) is not subject to review of a land use authority; and\n(b) does not require consent or approval from a land use authority before it may be recorded.\n(4) A boundary establishment is effective from the day it is recorded by a county recorder.\n(5) A municipality may enforce municipal ordinances against property with a boundary establishment that violates a land use regulation.\n(6) A boundary establishment that complies with this section presumptively:\n(a) has no detrimental effect on any easement on the property that is recorded before the day on which the agreement is executed; and\n(b) conveys the ownership of the adjoining parties to the established common boundary.","path":["Title 10 Utah Municipal Code","Chapter 10-20 Municipal Land Use, Development, and Management Act","Part 10-20-9 Administration of Land Use, Development, and Management Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title10/Chapter20/10-20-S907.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0c0763472b10b6d1a0d156e91daefa023bd6d5d3d42a1870c504e98a74d44a0e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-906","next":"us-ut/utah-code-10-20-908"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
