{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-10-3-1310","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 10-3-1310","heading":"Penalties for violation -- Dismissal from employment or removal from office.","body":"In addition to any penalty contained in any other provision of law, any person who knowingly and intentionally violates this part, with the exception of Sections 10-3-1306, 10-3-1307, 10-3-1308, and 10-3-1309, shall be dismissed from employment or removed from office and is guilty of:\n(1) a felony of the second degree if the total value of the compensation, conflict of interest, or assistance exceeds $1,000;\n(2) a felony of the third degree if:\n(a) the total value of the compensation, conflict of interest, or assistance is more than $250 but not more than $1,000; or\n(b) the elected or appointed officer or municipal employee has been twice before convicted of violation of this chapter and the value of the conflict of interest, compensation, or assistance was $250 or less;\n(3) a class A misdemeanor if the value of the compensation or assistance was more than $100 but does not exceed $250; or\n(4) a class B misdemeanor if the value of the compensation or assistance was $100 or less.","path":["Title 10 Utah Municipal Code","Chapter 10-3 Municipal Government","Part 10-3-13 Municipal Officers' and Employees' Ethics Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title10/Chapter3/10-3-S1310.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8f943b068fa30a356c79e8e0f287bf1a23ecd645fc6ab8ab4cee0ab9ad3d0d38","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-10-3-1309","next":"us-ut/utah-code-10-3-1311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
