{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-13-608","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-13-608","heading":"Termination of associated entity or segment.","body":"(1) The termination of a segment does not affect the segment's or the segment's associated entity's limitation on liabilities under this part.\n(2) A segment is terminated upon the termination of the segment's associated entity.\n(3)\n(a) Subject to Subsection (3)(b), the termination of a segment's associated entity or a segment may not affect the liability of the governing board, the governing body, a member of the governing board, a member of the governing body, an officer, an official, a contractor, or an employee for an action authorized:\n(i) before the termination of the associated entity or the segment by the governing board of the terminated associated entity or by the governing body of the terminated segment; or\n(ii) after the termination of the associated entity or the segment by:\n(A) a majority of individuals serving as members of the governing board of the terminated associated entity at the time the associated entity is terminated; or\n(B) a majority of the individuals serving as members of the governing body of the terminated segment at the time the segment is terminated.\n(b) Subsection (3)(a) applies to each action to:\n(i) provide for the claims, debts, obligations, or liabilities of the terminated associated entity or the terminated segment; or\n(ii) otherwise wind up the affairs of the terminated associated entity or the terminated segment.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-13 Interlocal Cooperation Act","Part 11-13-6 Taxed Interlocal Entities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter13/11-13-S608.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"7e876504d9608fe143d3f25afb0fdfb138472a2ba94789eaee643beadd1170ef","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-13-607","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-13a-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
