{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-14-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-14-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For the purpose of this chapter:\n(1) \"Bond\" means any bond authorized to be issued under this chapter, including municipal bonds.\n(2) \"Election results\" has the same meaning as defined in Section 20A-1-102.\n(3) \"Governing body\" means:\n(a) for a county, city, or town, the legislative body of the county, city, or town;\n(b) for a special district, the board of trustees of the special district;\n(c) for a school district, the local board of education; or\n(d) for a special service district under Title 17D, Chapter 1, Special Service District Act:\n(i) the governing body of the county or municipality that created the special service district, if no administrative control board has been established under Section 17D-1-301; or\n(ii) the administrative control board, if one has been established under Section 17D-1-301 and the power to issue bonds not payable from taxes has been delegated to the administrative control board.\n(4)\n(a) \"Local political subdivision\" means a county, city, town, school district, special district, or special service district.\n(b) \"Local political subdivision\" does not include the state and its institutions.\n(5) \"Special district\" means a district operating under Title 17B, Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Special Districts.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-14 Local Government Bonding Act","Part 11-14-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter14/11-14-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9426774dc69827a1aac0b8fd222ef252553aca5064440851e94cfbe8feac597d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-14-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-14-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
