{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-3-3.5","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-3-3.5","heading":"Licensing of retail sellers of fireworks -- Permit required -- Fee, insurance, or bond.","body":"(1)\n(a) A municipality or county may require a retail seller to obtain a license and pay a reasonable fee before selling a division 1.4G common state-approved explosive, as defined in Section 53-7-202, within the jurisdiction of that municipality or county.\n(b) A municipality or county may not restrict the number of licenses to be issued under this section.\n(2)\n(a) A municipality, county, or fire district shall require:\n(i) a permit to discharge all display fireworks, special effects, and flame effects performances; and\n(ii) evidence that the display operator, special effects operator, or flame effects operator who will set up and discharge the display has received a license from the State Fire Marshal Division, Department of Public Safety.\n(b) A municipality, county, or fire district may require a fee, insurance, or a bond before issuing a permit under this Subsection (2).","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-3 County and Municipal Fireworks Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter3/11-3-S3.5.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"4746d43c0e9d0618de00270f9b0295fc186afca2ea8148b9035a56225eaf34ea","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-3-3.1","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-3-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
