{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-36a-601","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-36a-601","heading":"Accounting of impact fees.","body":"A local political subdivision that collects an impact fee shall:\n(1) establish a separate interest bearing ledger account for each type of public facility for which an impact fee is collected;\n(2) deposit a receipt for an impact fee in the appropriate ledger account established under Subsection (1);\n(3) retain the interest earned on each fund or ledger account in the fund or ledger account;\n(4) at the end of each fiscal year, prepare a report that:\n(a) for each fund or ledger account, shows:\n(i) the source and amount of all money collected, earned, and received by the fund or ledger account during the fiscal year; and\n(ii) each expenditure from the fund or ledger account;\n(b) accounts for all impact fee funds that the local political subdivision has on hand at the end of the fiscal year;\n(c) identifies the impact fee funds described in Subsection (4)(b) by:\n(i) the year in which the impact fee funds were received;\n(ii) the project from which the impact fee funds were collected;\n(iii) the project for which the impact fee funds are budgeted; and\n(iv) the projected schedule for expenditure; and\n(d) is:\n(i) in a format developed by the state auditor;\n(ii) certified by the local political subdivision's chief financial officer; and\n(iii) transmitted to the state auditor within 180 days after the day on which the fiscal year ends.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-36a Impact Fees Act","Part 11-36a-6 Impact Fee Proceeds"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter36a/11-36a-S601.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"6c43e73e158ffcdae0c93f936ecf6f5013cf65dfd35c625897d4f600c832d358","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-36a-504","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-36a-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
